Morning Class??....no..

Today, I woke up early in the morning. My roommates are preparing to attend their classes. " Why did you still lie on your bed?! Don't you have to attend for your morning class? " One of my roommates claimed. She made an assumption that I woke up early because I have a morning class, but actually is not. "When will you go out?" She asked. "Later." I answered. My answer is over-generality because the statement is not sufficiently specific. When is 'later'?? 'Later' can represent 10 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or even longer period.

Jacquie Lawson

Today, I received an e-card sent by my friend, Sook Chan. The e-card is made by Jacquie Lawson, a British artist who lived in Southen England. She developed a unique collection of e-cards with her friends. She designed this e-card and expressed it in a very creative and innovative way. She showed the aesthetics of philosophy through her design.

Finally, I went out for supper....

Today, my friend invite me for supper. But, I rejected him because I'm not used to have supper at night. He begged, "Sin Yee, I am so pity, having supper alone because no friends are free to accompany me, so as you. Then, I'd better starve myself and stay alone at home. Are you willing to do that to me? " He applied ad-populum appeal to pity to persuade me.

An unexpected person

My friend called me today. He was one of my friends during my National Service period. I am quite surprising. After we chat for around 30 minutes, i am going to stop our conversation because i need to study for my mid-term exam which will held on 2 more days later. But, my friend claims that, "Why are you so anxious about it? There are still 48 hours for you to complete your studies! " He applied the down-player to make the statement seems less significant to persuade me to continue our conversation.

Go for a movie

I went to One Utama with my friend for a movie this evening. Before the movie starts, we decided to have our dinner there. My friend asked me, "What do you want to eat? " And I answered, "Is there any recommendations? " I applied the burden of proof fallacy to ask him a question, without answering his question.

Night blindness

Today, my roommate suddenly stared at me and said, "Sin Yee, you are a pretty girl! " She applied a vague statement. What is the standard of the 'pretty' in her opinion? Why did she say so? 'Pretty' in what way? Internal or external? Well, but in the end she told me that actually she has night blindness, and she can't see very clearly during the night, so she have illusion that I am a pretty girl....

Mumbling....

Hooi Xing, was my roommate and also a FCM student. She was doing her assignment this morning. She was mumbling, "If there is inflation, then the price of goods will rise; if the price of goods rose, then the personal expenditure will increase; if the personal expenditure increased, then will lead to poverty. So, if inflation happen, then will cause poverty." She applied the chain argument to expand her ideas through brainstorming. And her words also shown the application of ad populum appeal to indirect consequences.
